Celebrating its 32nd year in 2027, the Classic continues its proud tradition of bringing golfers together from across New Zealand and around the world, creating lasting friendships and unforgettable golfing experiences.

Every January, more than 350 golfers converge on the beautiful Bay of Plenty to play five outstanding championship courses in five days, all set within one of New Zealand's favourite summer holiday destinations. Between rounds, unwind on spectacular beaches, browse boutique shops, savour award-winning cafés and restaurants, and experience the warm hospitality that has become a hallmark of the Classic.

Entry Fees

•  Bird Offer: Enter before 1 October 2026 and pay NZ $460 per player.

• Standard Entry: Enter from 1 October 2026 onwards and pay NZ $510 per player.

• Local Player Rate: Members of the five host clubs pay NZ $360 per player.

Experience five championship golf courses over five exciting days. The Mount course is ranked in NZ's Top 40 courses and along with Tauranga, Omokoroa, Omanu and Fairview, the clubs have regularly hosted national events. Tauranga and the Mount annually host events on The NZ Charles Tour. Omanu has been a popular host venue for the Golf NZ Men’s & Women’s Mid Am and Omokoroa has hosted the Golf NZ Women’s Autumn Foursomes and numerous national veteran’s tournaments.

 

Players will compete in an individual Stableford competition with handicaps updated daily under the World Handicap System.

Daily prizes are awarded at each course, with overall tournament prizes presented across multiple men's and women's handicap divisions at Friday's Prize Giving.

 

The tournament field is limited to the first 360 entries received.

 

Players are allocated to one of three playing rotations and will play every host course during the week. Travelling companions can request to play together on the same course, by nominating their group when entering.
