The Bay of Plenty 5 Course Classic, attracts a large number of returning players; the camaraderie enjoyed and lifelong friendships that evolve are clearly evident. It is also a hugely popular format attracting new golfers to the region to enjoy a ‘feast of golf’!

The Bay of Plenty is the perfect summer holiday destination not only for the golf but for beaches, local shopping, restaurants, cafes and fun tourist adventures.

The tournament programme is set over five days playing five championship courses – Mount Maunganui, Omanu, Omokoroa, Tauranga and Te Puke. The Mount Maunganui course is ranked in NZ’s Top 40 courses and along with Te Puke, Tauranga and Omanu has regularly hosted national events. Te Puke hosted the NZ PGA in 2021. Tauranga and Mount Maunganui annually host events on the NZ Golf Charles Tour.

The competition format is Stableford over five rounds. Under the World Handicap System, handicaps will be changed daily.

Prizes are awarded daily, with overall prizes by multiple handicap divisions at the end of the week.

The field is limited to the first 500 entries received. Players are drawn into four equal groups, and play a different course over the five days. You can nominate you’re playing rotation on entry. Let us know the names of your travelling friends and we will do our best to arrange for you to play on the same courses.

All participants enjoy a fantastic week of golf and social activities and the best weather that the Bay of Plenty can offer.  Open to men and women golfers from clubs around New Zealand as well as international golfers from Australia and the Pacific. Maximum handicaps of 36.0 apply for men and 40.4 for women. Minimum age is 20 years.
